Quiltcon is a great show but most importantly a place where you can catch up with friends. I had three quilts in the show and my LOVE quilt was the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot with my friends Kathy, Sarah, Marla and Sophie.
Hé! Je suis de retour de mon voyage à Quiltcon qui avait lieu cette année à Austin - Texas. Pas totalement récupéré de l'excitation du show et du décalage horaire. Je me sens quand même un peu moins zombie aujourd'hui ...
Quiltcon est une super exposition mais plus important un endroit pour retrouver des amis. J'avais trois quilts dans l'exposition et mon quilt LOVE était le décor parfait pour une séance photo avec mes amies Kathy, Sarah, Marla et Sophie.
All of us had quilts in the show! I was super happy that Sophie, my travel mate, had her first submission to Quiltcon juried in the show. It was our third time together at Quiltcon and we are already speaking of next trip ... ;-)
Nous avions toutes des quilts dans l'exposition ! J'étais super contente que la première soumission pour Quiltcon de Sophie, ma camarade de voyage, soit acceptée pour le show. C'était notre troisième voyage ensemble à Quiltcon et nous parlons déjà du prochain ... ;-)

Kathy @hbeecook won the first prize in the Small Quilts category with The Circle Will be Broken.

She had three quilts in the Small Quilts category and I asked her a picture in front of The Other Half which was my favourite amongst the three.

My quilt Bubble Gum won the second prize in the Use of Negative Space category!

My third quilt in the show was Funky Town that I entered in the Quilting Challenge. This year theme was Stripes, pieced or printed on fabric.
* Note - I hate to pose for pictures. It is so embarrassing ... So now I go for silly pictures :-))
Mon troisième quilt dans l'exposition était Funky Town que j'avais inscrit dans la catégorie Quilting Challenge. Le thème de cette année était Stripes, bandes / rayures piécées ou imprimées sur le tissu.
* Note - Je déteste poser pour les photos. C'est tellement gênant ... Donc maintenant j'opte pour les photos ridicules :-))

Cette fois nous avons assisté à dix conférences ce qui était très intéressant mais un peu trop. Je trouve que nous avons manqué de temps pour l'exposition ... Nous avons eu aussi un atelier d'une heure avec Carolina Oneto qui était super. C'était sur la technique EPP avec des courbes et sur comment utiliser les couleurs pour obtenir un effet de transparence.
Carolina is a Chilean quilter now living in Sao Paolo - Brasil. She will have a personal exhibit at next European Patchwork Meeting in Alsace - France. I didn't plan to attend this year but I will think about it ... Two of her quilts hanging in the show, Unestable Balance on the left and Lemons and Oranges on the right, in the Small Quilts category.
Carolina est une quilteuse chilienne qui vit actuellement à Sao Paolo - Brésil. Elle aura une exposition personnelle au prochain Carrefour Européen du Patchwork en Alsace. Je n'ai pas prévu d'y aller mais je vais y réfléchir ... Deux de ses quilts exposés, Unestable Balance à gauche et Lemons and Oranges à droite, dans la catégorie Small Quilts.
