Quilty 365 - Beginning

Last week, I read on Maryse's blog she had just joined a new Quilt-A-Long, Quilty 365. You can see here her first blocks on a beautiful red background. This is a Quilt-A-Long hosted by Audrey at Quilty Folk. Click here for full details but here is the premise :

Stitch a CIRCLE (love that idea ...) on a background square, every day during a year.

The fabrics should be chosen individually on a daily basis. This choice may represent your mood or something related to the day.

La semaine dernière, j'ai lu sur le blog de Maryse qu'elle venait de rejoindre Quilty 365 un nouveau Quilt-A-Long (à traduire par "quiltons ensemble"). Vous pouvez voir ici ses premiers blocs sur un magnifique fond rouge. Ce Quilt-A-Long est organisé par Audrey de Quilty Folk. Vous trouverez tous les détails ici mais voici le principe :

Appliquer un cercle (j'adore cette idée ...) sur un carré de fond, chaque jour pendant une année.

Les tissus devraient être choisi individuellement, au jour le jour. Ce choix peut représenter l'état d'esprit du moment ou quelque chose en relation avec la journée.

Even though I really loved the idea at once, I was procrastinating about size, background, scrappy project (I usually work with a limited palette of fabrics !) and so on.

But what about working improv' way ?! Actually, I have to say it is not my own idea ... Thank you Stephie for inspiring me ;-) You can see here Stephie's first blocks.

Même si j'ai tout de suite adoré cette idée, je tergiversais à propos de la taille, du fond, du côté "scrap" de ce projet (je travaille habituellement avec une palette limitée de tissus !), etc ...

Mais, pourquoi ne pas travailler de manière improvisée ?! En fait, je dois dire que ce n'est pas ma propre idée ... Merci Stephie pour l'inspiration ;-) Vous pouvez voir ici les premiers blocs de Stephie.

I started last Saturday and so I can add a new WIP to my list ... I decided on a regular circle (may change along the way ...) and improv background for size and number of pieces.
J'ai commencé samedi dernier et je peux donc ajouter un nouveau projet en cours à ma liste ... Je me suis décidée pour un cercle régulier (ça peut évoluer en cours de route ...) et un fond improvisé pour la taille et le nombre de pièces.

Today I chose a piece of an old shirt for the background, thinking of my dad. And a London theme fabric for the circle, thinking of my son (who is studying in London and who has not called his mom for more than a week :-( !!! ).
Aujourd'hui, j'ai choisi un morceau de chemise pour le carré de fond, en pensant à mon papa. Et un tissu sur le thème de Londres pour le cercle, en pensant à mon fils (qui étudie à Londres et qui n'a pas appelé sa maman depuis plus d'une semaine :-( !!!).
